Wendy Landry, Certified Yoga Therapist
Wendy began practicing yoga in her early 30s and found that her yoga practice helped her stay connected to her sense of humor and sense of adventure. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to travel around the United States, Canada and France studying with wonderful teachers, learning more about yoga and experiencing one magical adventure after another. Wendy has the joy of owning Om Prana Yoga in the Kansas City area with her husband Robb. They enjoy collaborating on their business, getting to know new people and sharing their passion for yoga and meditation with others.
Robb Poe, Registered Yoga Teacher & Eagle Scout
Robb loves the outdoors. He loves to camp, hike and cook in a Dutch oven. (He makes a mean dessert in a Dutch oven.) Adventure in the outdoors is his passion. Robb is a 200 hour yoga teacher and enjoys teaching restorative yoga. He also has studied meditation and leads a free meditation group at Om Prana Yoga weekly. Robb is the ‘behind the curtain’ support at the studio and routinely makes Wendy’s ideas come to fruition.

What is the weather like in Steamboat in October?
Temperature can range from a balmy highs in the mid-60’s F during the day to a nippy 25F during the late evening/early morning hours. October is typically a dry month, with a chance of light snow late in the month.
What kind of clothes will I need for the trip?
Given the wide variability in temperature, we recommend bringing clothing that can be layered on as you cool down and removed as you warm up during outdoor activities. Topped off with a jacket/coat.
For visiting the hot springs, you will definitely need your swimsuit and perhaps a cover up, large towel, or bathrobe and sandals for when you exit the 104F pools. Changing areas available at the springs.
If you plan to take part in the hikes, appropriate footwear, a small daypack, and lightweight rain jacket would be appropriate.
What should I budget for meals? Light Breakfast is included. Dinners are included, which are the most expensive meals. Shuttle service into Steamboat are arranged in the afternoon, so lunch at your own choice and expense, will be available in town. We will also have access to multiple kitchens so if you want to store some snacks or sandwich options, you can. We’ll be happy to help you with meal decisions.
I would like to immerse myself in yoga and self-exploration while I’m there. Is there time for that? YES! Afternoons will be free for you to explore the perfect day for you! There will be plenty of time to reflect, do your own practice, journal, photography, sketching, whatever your creative outlet is.
Are massages available? There is a spa at the Old Town Hot Springs in Steamboat that offers various styles massage, here is the information to set up an appointment in the afternoons. https://www.oldtownhotsprings.org/massage/
